Engine Air Filter

The engine air filter plays a key role in the performance and efficiency of any motor vehicle. If the correct amount of air cannot be inducted into the engine then the vehicles calculated fuel mixture could be incorrect causing a less efficient machine.

The engine air filter is removed and inspected on all ITS autos services. If the engine filter has only a few visible areas of dirt or debris then the filter can be tapped against a clean surface so that the dirt or debris falls off, the filter can be re-used. If the Engine air filter is clearly dirty and looks as if the inducted air flow could be restricted then the engine air filter should be replaced. The engine air filter should not be cleaned as it may release small particles of pollutant into the atmosphere. Engine air filters are replaced on every ITS Inclusive Full service and also every ITS Classic Full service.

Fuel Filters

Your Fuel Filter has a regular service interval. ITS autos refer to the manufacturers recommended replacement intervals for all filters. The vehicles Fuel Filter filters the fuel that you put in from the pump before it enters the engine. The Fuel Filter removes any particles of dirt and separates any moisture contamination to assists with a clean combustion burn and keeps the engine working at optimum performance.  A blocked fuel filter may produce vehicle driving symptoms such as low MPG, lack of power and excessive moisture build up may result in a warning being illuminated (only on certain models) poor combustion burn can result in an excessive build-up of carbon in the engine that could cause further engine problems.

Cabin Air and Pollen Filters

Pollution on the roads and especially around built up areas and cities puts an increased requirement for a filtration system to stop air pollutants entering the vehicles cabin, these pollutants include dust, dirt, exhaust fumes and pollen. There are two types of cabin air filter available, a regular filter and a charcoal activated filter that is approximately 25% more efficient at removing pollution than the regular. The charcoal activated filter is also an assistant in removing odours and smells. . If the filter is clearly dirty and looks as if the air flow into the cabin could be restricted then the cabin air filter should be replaced. The cabin air filter is removed and inspected on all ITS autos services. The cabin air filter should not be cleaned as it may release small particles of pollutant into the atmosphere. Spark Plugs

Petrol Engines and Petrol Hybrid Engines are fitted with spark plugs that require replacement due to mileage or periodically depending if they are Platinum tipped or as in most modern vehicles Iridium tipped. ITS autos fit only premium brand spark plugs as recommended by the manufacturer, correct for your vehicle. We can inspect and advise you on the condition of your spark plugs. We can remove the plugs and check the plugs condition and that the spark gap is set to the correct gap distance. We also check the condition of the porcelain non conductive surround for damage. Any faults would result in a new set of spark plugs being fitted.
